The Strand Theatre is located in the heart of Downtown Dover, New Hampshire on Third Street between Ross Furniture and The Well Dressed Hog restaurant. It opened on the night of September 22nd, 1919. The first performance was “Daddy Long Legs” starring Mary Pickford with orchestral accompaniment.

The Strand Theatre building was the flagship of Spinelli Cinemas, designed in the style of the Strand Theatre in Aldwych, London, which first opened on May 22nd, 1905 as the Waldorf Theatre. After many exterior changes and a new Dolby surround sound system, Michael Spinelli renovated and restored the Strand with a grand re-opening on September 22nd, 1987. Including the original main floor auditorium that seats 360, it has tripled in size with two additional screens added in the balcony area, each seating around 70 people.

No advance tickets are sold prior to thirty minutes before a show time. Standard ticket prices are $8.00 for Adults, and $6.00 for children under age 11, Seniors over age 62. Matinees shows are only $6.00 before 6PM. Gift cards are available in the office. New shows come out on Fridays. Check back here for weekly updates or visit Spinelli Cinemas
