Fires can claim lives and cause serious injuries to victims that incur medical fees, loss of jobs, and higher property taxes to pay for Fire and Rescue services. Fires can also cause loss of infrastructure and sources of revenue, creating eyesores of destroyed buildings where businesses once flourished, loss of revenue to those businesses, loss of tax revenue from those businesses to the city, and increased Insurance Premiums to property owners.
