Our Instructors

Guitar

Scot Gelzinis has been teaching locally for the past 12 years. Scot’s down to earth, hands on teaching approach has produced positive results in the beginner and intermediate student. Specializing in current and classic rock, Scot believes that establishing an interest level is key to developing the student’s individual playing style. He can be seen performing as lead guitarist in the acoustic pop band Imajyn, and the hard rock band Maniacal.

Matt Lister graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelors degree in Music Performance for classical guitar. While his specialty lies in playing and performing classical music, Matt is also an accomplished finger style, Celtic, and folk player as well, making him adept with both nylon and steel string acoustic guitars. Jim Dozet has been teaching guitar for the past 5 years. He holds a bachelors degree in music from the University of New Hampshire. Jim’s expertise lies in rock, jazz and blues. Jim can teach the beginner to advanced guitarist of all ages. Jim plays locally with the press and Mac Tough.

Drums

Chris Thurston has been teaching drums for over 5 years to students of many ages. His studies of various styles such as rock, funk, and jazz have enabled him to perform with such diverse acts as Solid 8, Coby Carlucci, and currently Out of Print. Chris’ background in pedagogy has shaped his approach for students who are first learning or searching for greater improvement.

Nick Phaneuf studied music education at UNH with John Hunter while completing his bachelors degree in music. Nick has taught privately for 2 years and is highly competent teaching young beginners as well as advanced theory. He currently plays with the Texas Governor and his own band, Sixth Root.
