A Personalized Approach to Your Health Care
Our physicians have admitting privileges at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester and Wentworth Dougless Hospital in Dover. Our dedicated staff of physicians’ assistants and nurse practitioners supports our family practice physicians. Our staff has expertise in pediatric and adolescent medicine, social services, family planning, women’s reproductive health, and prenatal care. But it’s more than just providing medical expertise – despite the struggles that healthcare is facing today, we are dedicated to ensuring that the patient always comes first at Avis Goodwin CHC.
Through our personalized approach to each individual, our network of in-office and out-of-office resources and our participation in local & national projects – has given us expertise in chronic disease management. We are steadfast in ensuring that your health care needs are always our priority. Very few other practices can offer and deliver on this kind of personalized commitment to their patients.

Specialized Programs Support You & Your Family
If you have asthma or diabetes, Avis Goodwin CHC helped develop and participates in Best Practices that are used to develop a health care treatment plan for you. Other services that we offer include – electronic medical record retrieval and referrals, Women Infant & Children (WIC) and Commodities Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), family planning options and counseling, and women’s health issues. Additionally, we run STD/HIV clinics weekly out of both our Dover and Rochester offices.
A Focus in Women’s Health
Today’s women face challenges unlike any generation before them. Avis Goodwin CHC offers a focus in women’s health by providing resources and counseling alongside a multi-disciplined prenatal program that includes: nursing case management, nutritional support, and dedicated providers who specializes in women’s health issues.
Dental Services
Avis Goodwin CHC believes that the integration of oral health and primary health care is crucial to the overall health of our patients. For this reason, we have established dental clinics at both of our sites. Our dentist and staff are able to provide dental exams, education, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and other basic dental and oral health care services.
Title X Family Planning Services
In 1970, Title X of the Public Health Service Act was signed into law, which promised that “no woman would be denied access to family planning assistance because of her economic condition.” Avis Goodwin CHC’s roots are in Title X Family Planning Services. As the only Title X Family Planning clinic in Strafford County, our commitment to this role is strong and on-going. This means that the residents of this area can receive comprehensive family planning services at our facilities at an affordable rate, even if they are uninsured.
Assistance with the High Cost of Prescriptions
We offer an exclusive program that helps families and individuals with the spiraling costs of prescription medication. Through our 340B program, we are able to purchase medications at the Federal Government’s purchase price and then pass that savings along to you. This is particularly helpful for seniors.
Our own experience in the community, our collaboration with other agencies, our expertise in providing medical care for your whole family (from youngest to oldest) and our personalized approach places us in a unique position to provide you with the very best health care.

The Health Center receives funding from local hospitals, the State of New Hampshire, the United Way of the Greater Seacoast and private foundations. Additionally, we are a Federally Qualified Health Center, which requires us to meet specific quality standards.
